What is a trademark?

A trademark is any word, name, tagline, symbol or combination of elements that identify the goods and services of one party from those of others.

Per the "A trademark is a brand name. A trademark or service mark includes any word, name, symbol, device, or any combination, used or intended to be used to identify and distinguish the goods/services of one seller or provider from those of others, and to indicate the source of the goods/services."

How is a mark protected?

The trademark designation 鈩� indicates that a mark is protected, even though federal registration may not have been filed. A 庐 designation indicates that a mark is federally registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
